But isnt it better to know beforehand that all some game gives is "Congratulaion!" on a black screen after all hard work, rather than spending the requisite 20+ hours to get there and see it for yourself (and possibly bash your C64/joystick/nearest nonliving object/nearest living object in rage)? :)

Dont know.. if its a simple arcadeshooter with no mega-uber story, and manages to increase the difficulty for the second round, why not restart?

Feh, I never can complete a game anyway (apart from Impossible Mission: I rock at Impossible Mission), so game endings are lost to me.
