Fixed the link on the programming compo so it’s... erm, actually a link. =-)

[2] : 01. Aug 2003 16:12
WTF is new and rewamped in this logo, this is the same old commodore mark with blue changed to white and a skewed/embossed rectangle under it.
CreaMD, me just curious, will you change that C= logo on top to the new one?

Someone please ask these irontulip guys to pay for demos and the scene will have a pump up, guaranteed!

[3] : 01. Aug 2003 16:42
They contacted some fan sites as you can read in their article. ;-) C64.sk is not a C64-fan-site ;-) It’s serious news portal about C64 scene ;-). But seriously... I don’t know if I’ll use them or not. Now my mind is full of North Party 8 in Warszaw ;-).

[4] : 01. Aug 2003 17:39
screw that new logo i say.... it has R.E.T.R.O. written all over it no? argls

[5] : 02. Aug 2003 00:46
bah, they killed the blue/red in it, looks like a lousy rip-off. me not want any retro-shiit

AUA! well, expected no other kind of reactions (:

[7] : 03. Aug 2003 23:45
CreaMD, not 21, but 19 tunes took part in NP8 msx compo - you left too early to know that two more tunes couldn’t be run and therefore got disqualified.

[8] : 04. Aug 2003 00:09
Aha.. so egzekwo = sharing? okay thanx for info

[9] : 04. Aug 2003 00:17
Yes, it’s "ex aequo"... :)

wasn’t he in taboo or something?
Tired judge

[12] : 04. Aug 2003 14:09
...so we get a new Commodore 64 logo in embossed italics, lacking the classic easily, recognizable color scheme and sporing a useless dark blue backdropped background... is everybody supposed to drop the classic logo in favour of this new one and if so, will they supply decent file formats to fit the logo into page designs that are not based on white backgrounds, and are there any license agreements involved when using this new logo?
se7en

[13] : 04. Aug 2003 14:52
Good points. I was thinking about it and still didn’t decide. I would probably rather keep original logo. As far as those white backgrounds are concerned, I’ve cut out just the logo and uploaded it as PNG with alpha-channel transparency. It is here: http://www.c64.sk/files/newc64logo1.png and here http://www.c64.sk/files/newc64logo2.png They can be put into e.g. photoshop and shadow or any other style can be added.
Crea

[14] : 04. Aug 2003 14:55
I don’t suppose anyone is going to use them until Ironstone stops talking about their plans and starts to realise them. All that "logo showcased on number of enthusiast sites" sounds IMO like PR talk.
CreaMD

[15] : 04. Aug 2003 23:21
who needs official websites anyway, the net is nothing more than corruption.. warez, porn etc.. what they need to do is find a legitimate reason for people to keep up their usage while making a profit. Since that is what it is all about..

[16] : 05. Aug 2003 00:12
..no good deed goes unpunished... you’ll probably be the first one to be sued for mutilating the new and improved C64 logo =)
se7en

[17] : 05. Aug 2003 08:05
I can’t see why you keep talking about this shit. It’s completely uninteresting and has no effect on the scene whatsoever.

Moved ~Spacetanks~ to betanews. Not a C64 release.

Also removed their link upon their request.

[25] : 07. Aug 2003 14:43
Hi guys.
Can you recommend me some good looking and very playable Tron clones for C64? I’ve and urgent need for some titles and URLs!

[26] : 07. Aug 2003 16:37
The new prices at the Protovision-site are a bit harsh, arent they ? A PS/2 Keyboard Adaptor for 525Euro ? hm, I will stick to my 128 keyboard anyways :-D

[27] : 07. Aug 2003 18:37
No, not 525 Euro indeed :-D It costs 55 Euro (including shipping) actually. At the GO64 Shop, you pay 60 Euro plus shipping. Build a cheaper PS/2 Keyboard Adaptor ;-)
The other PTV-prices are not "new" at all.

[28] : 07. Aug 2003 20:15
@ Slator: Sorry, first I didn’t get the 525 Euro were actually our mistake. It is fixed now. Many thanks for the hint!

[29] : 08. Aug 2003 14:00
Jailbird: best ones i can think of are Centric and Raster Runner - any good?

[30] : 08. Aug 2003 15:29
tmr: thanx! and i remember a double density tron clone as well, rebel racers or something like that. anyone here has a copy of that game by any chance?

[31] : 08. Aug 2003 20:00
Jailbird: go to http://www.c64.com and search for "corx".
SBoy

[32] : 08. Aug 2003 20:52
TMR, SBoy: a lot of thanx! great!
jailbird

[33] : 08. Aug 2003 21:11
I would have suggested Centric and Rebel Racers aswell. A fine version of Centric (by FairLight) is on CSDb.
Anyway, such kind of requests would maybe better fit in the CSDb Request Forum.

[34] : 09. Aug 2003 05:00
Yea right, oops and sorry guys. Actually now as I think back to the moment of writing that post, can’t really remember why I asked for the games here and not on CSDb. Seems that’s one of those things that makes you go "hmmm"...
Too tired, too stupid, too stoned, or all that at once, might be the case.

Yeah yeah, I know, I’ll rather wake my rubberdollie now and fuck her up to tiny pieces! GEEZ, off.
jerkbird

[35] : 09. Aug 2003 21:32
Corx racers was one cool game by O.Stiller/MDG. I have to admit :) Which reminds me, where is he now?

Arsembly results. oldschool gfx not listed yet, but it’s probably won by mermaid or electric. http://asm03.assembly.org/News/Compos/
jailbird

[37] : 10. Aug 2003 12:13
quick results from primary star: reyn won the music compo, genius/paradize won the gfx compo and the dreams won the demo compo. Overall quality of the productions was rather low, apart from the music imho, some very nice tunes there (even though my favourite by Abaddon (I think) didn’t even finish in the top 3 - that should teach me not to vote!). Nice party though, much better than excepted

Re-edited the entry about the new AFL demo (transfered URLs to hyperlinks and added the info that it was released at the Danish Gold Autumn Party 2003).
Wonder why we couldn’t read about this party here before it took place...?

[42] : 12. Aug 2003 00:49
Coz it was Elite party, maybe? ;-) Btw.I’ve spotted the invitation either somewhere at Radwar discussion board long time ago if or in that Flash demo released months ago, if I remember right.

Yo people! Here we are at the SAMAR MEETING 2003. At Ramos’es home there are MacArthur, Phobos, Asterion, Ivan and DJ Gruby! We greet you all! At the moment we’re planning to run PC demos on the emulator on C64 named "PC Shit v2.00 Beta", cause already we’ve seen Atari demos. Send.

Mad: There indeed were -5- C64 related events last weekend: Primary Star 2003, Assembly 2003, Danish Gold Autumn 2003 Party, ?rok Party 5 and Classic Gaming Expo 2K3. Life should be a party! ;-)

[61] : 15. Aug 2003 09:25
But why also Arok party wasn’t in our partyscope? Seems like we should add possibility to open-add party...

[63] : 15. Aug 2003 11:16
@ CreaMD: Well, I heard about Arok party and asked Poison / Singular if it should be announced here, but he said it was a really low number visited meeting, and he didn’t want to advert it too much (maybe because there wasn’t THAT much space for more visitors).

Guys could you post Breakpoint 2004 in your partyscopy? I realise it’s still pretty far away, but maybe this way people have plenty of time to prepare ;-) It’s going to be at Easter 2003, which would by April 9th to 12th, IIRC.
