For those who might be interested to read a few lines about the Breakpoint graphics: find the reviews HERE

[4] : 03. May 2003 20:31
Edited the Uncover item, removed some white space at the top and corrected the spelling.

[5] : 04. May 2003 02:18
i’d just like to point out that c64’s in electronic music is nothing new, i was doing instruments for a band called "size", a part of clan analogue way back in 94.. and posting talkshit on the mainpage of c64.sk is pure fuckstain antics.. get a fucken grip you backdoor bullyboy, your mother needs a clean set of kalsong!

[6] : 04. May 2003 03:16
Moved the second C64 "inspired" CD posting to beta. To the poster; please read the note at the bottom of the beta page, that’s why you’re being moved. If you have a problem, the email address under my name is correct.

[7] : 04. May 2003 09:06
I always sez TMR z a lamer who constantly removes stuff but nobody ever listened to me :/ Bloody red censure I say.

[10] : 04. May 2003 11:42
Moved Yodelking’s comments about Uncover’s SIDs and their response to beta, hope nobody threatens my life this time... Oh, i compared the tunes and Yodelking is right; they’re the same as Final Synth Sample 3 but the playback speed is out from the original so i assume the demos they were pulled from stole the music from Hubbard’s sample demo and just timed them for the frame rather than use the CIA.

[11] : 04. May 2003 12:17
Added another post to beta for Yodelking (he emailed me and asked me to do that! =-) about the Hubbard tunes thing...

[12] : 04. May 2003 16:13

Does the wanker know what he really is talking about? He has the biggest ego talking to us as we know nothing. Reminds me of some music group having to pay some UK person who made tunes on the C64 in the 80s. Perhaps he thinks every visitor here has no life.

[31] : 05. May 2003 18:12
Hmm.. I have a suspicion that because the collision bugged in the preview (sometimes game over right in the start), it was removed as a "bug-fix".. Proper solution would be to read the collision registers one more time to clear them, or to not use them at all (ask TMR to code proper char-based collision routine for you :))

[32] : 05. May 2003 18:36
What, the mess i use to do sprite to char is actually "proper"...?! =-)

[33] : 06. May 2003 01:17

[67] : 18. May 2003 19:08
I will kindly say this once, and once only. Do yourself a favour Fade, buddy, give yourself and me a break. Super Galaxys was the correct name. It was a story based on an evil planet destruction device known as the Super Galaxys. I rest my case :)
Richard

[68] : 18. May 2003 22:28
but surely my good little man, you can understand that you may be able to use galaxys in the u.k. but here in australia we strive to deliver perfect english all the time. Being correct is our hallmark! and our poor galaxies need not be insulted with your neanderthal British pig latin

You can\’t expect people learning correct spelling while they are buissy planning world domination (and executing their plans. Conquering and destroying whole galaxies doesn\’t let you much spare time to proof your spelling)
pi, world dominator in 2004

I could never respect world-conquering races who don’t know how to spell.
Tdj

[75] : 20. May 2003 13:01
i assume that’s why Microsoft put the spell checker into Word, so they’d be able to get on with the world domination and the paperclip sorts the spelling...?

[76] : 20. May 2003 17:22
A scenemade C64 game written in ’engrish’ could be a nice touch.. in the endscreen you should get ’congratulaion’ or ’congraturations’.. Perhaps ’Super Galaxys: Gaiden’?

[77] : 20. May 2003 18:11
Well I wouldn’t be surprised with lack of English. For example G.W.Hussain/Urine’s scrolltext, perhaps we should all create a -Scene- dictionary :)
Richard/Urine (I wish)

Does the name \’Buenzli\’ mean anything?
Thunderblade

[93] : 26. May 2003 02:50
where did the idea for compressing files come from? well one day in 1987 i was kinda bored after making a woman with big breasts from my computer come to life and taking america hostage with my acoustic coupler, i thought "there is so much unused data space in some games and makes my cracks look big. big cracks are not good (the poor world had just succumb to militant fatty terrorists bending over, showing big cracks). I knew i could make the world a better place by making cracks smaller on computers and eventually trying to make fat people thinner via my superior packing methods. So i did what every good coder does, emails tmr for help and the rest is the preverbial history.
fader

[94] : 26. May 2003 09:10
TB: Yep it does. A ’Buenzli’ (can also be used as adjective ’buenzlig’) is someone that is very serious, does not understand the sense of humour and fun, has garden gnomes and cranesbills, wears suits with grey ties and complains all the time about loud neighbours, crying babies and every other single bit that doesn’t fit in the picture of his own, very small and boring world. There are quite many Swiss people that behave like this (and I guess there are people like this in many other countries aswell). ’Buenzli’ is a typical Swiss word. It is also an existing last name here. The party is called like this since the very beginning with Buenzli #1, and was intended to be a parody on that picture of a Swiss man I described. Since the name is very well known in the scene these days we of course kept it. And it’s still a parody, because if you’re ’buenzlig’ you wouldn’t really want to come to that party. Hope that explains it :)

[95] : 26. May 2003 11:57

Morgor. It might come handy next time when we’ll need to count votes at Forever. Last year Wotnau had to count them all on his own because we forgot to bring our traditional "very special" vote counter routine coded in assembler (the data input is done via monitor in text editing mode, then you have to count number of lines (change this value in routine) and number of columns (which means number of entries and limit is around 32 entries if I count righ (Final Cartridge and Action Replay have such text dump/editing command in their monitors).

Except of those last 3 from Richard. I’m afraid of going berserk if I see more junk here, so be careful Rich. As far as Fade’s deleted posts are concerned, we both had talk about it no hard feelings. End of story.

[139] : 30. May 2003 00:03
creamd, you may as well delete my last post also, as it doesn’t make sense without the removed posts from richard! :)

[140] : 30. May 2003 00:13
Deev, and if Roman deletes your last post, this very last one won’t have any sense neither. Neither this one I’m writinig at the moment.
That’s the domino-theory in practice.

Hehe.. ook I’ve deleted that one, but I won’t delete those last two because I, I... eee... like them. *silly smile*

Richard, don’t you think the way you try to promote your first experiments with Goat Tracker it is a little bit exaggerated??!

Agreed... should be moved to sub-news

[144] : 30. May 2003 11:25
Morgor, Thunder: that’s a no-no attitude, please.
Fade and I ’d like a banner on the right saying "Richard’s first Goat Tracker tune".
Is that possible, Roman?

Ok, why I am really here is to inform this little community that Jailbird&Friends moved to c64.rulez.org.
So, consequently, the address where you can find the site changed too. Clieckoen!

[145] : 30. May 2003 14:28
Yo, or why not put up a big banner replacing that Vision partybanner on top of the page? It’s all a matter of priorities! ;->

[146] : 30. May 2003 15:20
Richard is already well known anyway.. he doesn’t need banner advertisements ;-)

May I suggest a slogan for you guys:
"C64.SK - The place where you can find Richard’s first Goat Tracker tune"

Does everyone know who Brad Templeton is?
ThunderBlade

[149] : 30. May 2003 20:03
Agreed... should be moved to sub-news Me too.

[150] : 30. May 2003 21:29
Who the f$%& is Brad Templeton? Read tomorrow on my website: Interview with Martin Klein, he’s my neighbour and knows a lot about motorbikes. He used to have a C64 too, but dumped it when it refused to play back audiotapes in the datasette in reasonable soundquality.

[151] : 30. May 2003 22:31
* fermhg: What do you think about the SID and it’s possibilities?
* fermhg: What do you think about the VIC II and it’s possibilities?
* fermhg: What do you think about the CIA and it’s possibilities?
* Brad: Not really involved with these things.

Hmm.. naturally it must be possible to write a C64 emulator and still have no opinion of the chips, but still somewhat odd answer :)

[152] : 31. May 2003 10:42
I’d like to know the same question. Who is Brad Templeton? I don’t think any of us heard of him somehow.
Richard

[153] : 31. May 2003 16:14
Check the interview, it says what he?s done; PAL Assembler and a series of tools with the prefix "Power" (not the Power64 emulator). According to his own site, he?s presently chairman of the board of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and may be able to claim to have put the dot between a domain name and it?s TLD... In other words, more famous than most of us. =-)

[154] : 31. May 2003 23:35
But definitely still less famous than Richard. :)
