| Cartograph V1.3 by Arkanix Labs |
12:02 |
Cartograph is a native Commodore 64 application created for designing tile-based maps/levels. This versatile tool allows you to create maps and levels for your games, matrices and data for demos and tools and much more.
Cartograph V1.3 increases productivity and decreases the amount of time needed to create your data. Some of the major changes include six new fill modes (random and pattern), six more data types, REU support (backups and undo), and RLE compression. Maps created with earlier versions are 100% compatible with this new release.

Hi everybody. In May 21. 2010, it will be 9 years since I launched c64.sk. Since then it was visited over 2,2 million times and its news count has grown to over 4100 news posts. About 11 music compos has been organized and numerous parties, compos and projects have been supported. C64.sk was always managed as 100% non-profit open news site mantained by volunteers. I never had any kind of paid advertising on this site and rejected few backlink buyers too.
I’m not going to tell you that this site won’t run without your donations and support. I’ll keep this site running at least as long as I’m alive. Pay the hosting, organise compos, parties, and eventually redesign c64.sk when the time comes. All I would like to ask you is, that if you feel like it’s worth it, please make a donation (by clicking on the "make a donation" paypal button in the right column, then you have to enter the amount, then click update totals, and finally you can login in to your account. Kinda complicated :). Anyway, I’m really thankful for any kind of support and motivation you are giving me. Thank you.
CreaMD of DMAgic
p.s.: unless you explicitly ask me not to, I’ll publish donor signature and date on the donations page.
p.s. 2: Wow. Got first donation. That was quicker than I expected. Half of the hosting for 3 months paid. Going to setup a donor list page soon.

| New retro trading website for Commodore 64 and other retro computers |
10:12 |
We have recently launched a new Retro Computer and Electronics Auction website - http://www.sellmyretro.com
There are some major changes over and above traditional sites, such as eBay which can help you to drive business for FREE!
The aim of the site is to be a one stop shop for people interested in retro computers and electronics - we therefore actively encourage traders to open a free webstore and use it to promote their own site.
If you do choose to list items on the site, listing fees are free until 30th June 2010. After that date, we will be substantially cheaper than ebay. There is also the option of paying £5 per month for a webstore and receiving a 50% discount on all fees.
Any items which are listed for a fixed price are also automatically added to the Google Base search engine, which can be used for price comparison, or people just shopping around.
Webstore owners can also edit the wiki which is built into each category and we would welcome additions / modifications to the text which appears for each category to help drive visitors to the site.
We would therefore love you to join the community and advertise your site.

| New game preview: MiniDon |
21:00 |
Geir Straume has been working on and off on a new game called "MiniDon" for some time now. He doesnt know when hell be able to finish it, so hes releasing the current code as a preview. "MiniDon" is inspired by the arcade game "Don Doko Don" (Geir has NO intention of re-creating the entire game on the 64). He originally started this as a "minigame" project, but quickly realized that the graphics etc. wouldnt fit in 4K. The preview is available for download here:
http://home.get.no/gstraume/c64/minidon.html For discussing this preview, you might want to use this thread at Lemon64 Forums. Source: Lemon64 Forums
